I have been unable to sign in to yahoo messenger for 4 days. I can sign in on my phone or into my email.?

I am just unable to sign in on my computer. I have tried to resolve the issue in the yahoo help with their "liveperson" chat and have also submitted several requests through the "report a problem" and have still been unable to resolve the issue. I have uninstalled and reinstalled yahoo messenger and I am getting really frustrated. I have invested a lot of time in this problem. How do I resolve the issue?

Hi there! I had the same problem and so did a lot of people. As soon as I click the log in, the yahoo messenger application vanishes into thin air. Also the icon in my toolbar vanishes. Does it sound familiar to you? if so then I found a fix for this. Use the Combofix. You can go to this site to download and learn how to make ComboFix work -- www(dot)bleepingcomputer(dot)com / combofix / how-to-use-combofix . Replace the (dot ) with . and remove the spaces in between because I cant post the link as it is. Yahoo won't let me.





I suggest READ EVERYTHING first (at least twice) in that link before downloading because there are some instructions there that are really important.





Do everything as instructed on how to use it. Trust me, my yahoo messenger is working like new now without having to reinstall yahoo or any programs. This will save you the time and trouble. And also, it seems like this problem's root cause is a flash drive. Try reformatting any flashdrive you have.

Reply:I'm sorry I wish I could solve this problem because I am experiencing the same exact thing....well most of it. I too can't can't sign into messenger on my computer (even after I've uninstalled and reinstalled) but can sign on my phone. I have been able to access my mail though. When I try to click on messenger, the hour glass changes for a second and nothing comes up. NOTHING. Hope you can find some help.
Reply:make a new yahoo account and try to sign in with that one. if you still can't with that name, then, u might need to check the settings on your computer...like cookies, internet options, firewall, proxies, etc.


if it works with the new password. maybe ur yahoo password has been compromised and soembody has been using it.


Or, maybe you need to sign out on ur phone. possibly it has you logged on thru ther and won't u log on 2 different locations at the same time.

Have you checked your antivirus/security program on your computer? Some have parental functions where you may check or uncheck for to allow/disallow chat/instant messaging websites and functions.
