When I click the "sign-up" button anywhere on Yahoo it takes me directly back to the Yahoo! front page and not to a place to sign up for yahoo mail. Why is this happening?

You dont need to sign up. When you join this you get an account. Its your username on this @yahoo.com or whatever,
